I need to change how I’m spending my time. Waste categories are the normal ones (yo-yos / video games / movies / electronics).
Lately I’ve been reading about what people do in order to start and maintain a successful home yoga practice. It’s not all that different from what people do to start and maintain better money habits.
In the last Dave Ramsey class, the one on “Dumping Debt,” I realized that he talked very little about the reasons why a person wouldn’t want debt, but relatively little about the day to day tactics to stay on track with a new plan. I think this is because he knows he needs to establish the motivation element before the tactics become relevant – and he has enough trouble doing that.
So I need to make sure to include a healthy does of motivation as a percentage of the mix of my advice. The tactical stuff can get boring fast if you’re not in the mood.
